Daily Reflection: Being Still, Ceasing Striving, and Letting God Fight Your Battles

The main point in this passage is the fact that you need to BE STILL, because it is only in doing so that you are going to discover that God is God. The Hebrew word for “be still” is Raphah, which does not mean to just sit down helplessly, but rather to let go, put your hands down, stop fighting, and desist from every form of striving. The reason you need to do this is because it is in doing so that God will manifest Himself and bring an end to all your anxieties, worries, fears, predicaments, etc. On the other hand, if you want to fight it out by yourself, then God is going to step aside and watch you overcome by yourself. Fighting or trying to fight will simply prove that you do not need the help of God. In our supporting passage in Exodus 14:14, God plainly tells us to hold our peace because He is the one who fights for us. Furthermore, in Exodus 23:22, He reveals that if we are able to obey Him, He will become an enemy to our enemies and an adversary to our adversaries. Now let us look at 2 Chronicles 20:20–30 to see how God fulfilled the scriptures in the life of the Israelites. As we can see, God caused their enemies to turn among themselves and destroy each other, and as if that wasn’t enough, He let the Israelites inherit all their enemies’ belongings. As we have seen from our main passage, supporting scriptures, and the examples in the reflection, all we need to do is to keep calm and not be alarmed by what our enemies are going to do unto us. Instead, look up to God as the one who fights for us, and above all else, concentrate and focus on obeying Him so He can always be there to defend us. Daily Prayer: Grace to Cease Striving, Rest in Peace, and Triumph in God

Today’s Confession: I boldly declare that I choose to be still and know that the Lord is God! I lay down my weapons, cease from human striving, and release every anxiety, fear, and battle into the hands of God. I refuse to fight by my own power or rely on my limited wisdom. The Lord is fighting for me while I hold my peace. My enemies shall turn against themselves, and God will turn every trial into a harvest of blessing and peace for me today, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen! A Morning Prayer for Absolute Tranquility and Divine Defense: Heavenly Father, the God who commands the raging storms to be still, I enter Your presence this Tuesday morning with a heart ready to rest in Your sovereignty. Thank You for Your Word in Psalm 46:10 reminding me to drop my hands, stop striving, and recognize that You are God over every circumstance. Lord, forgive me for any moments I tried to take matters into my own hands out of anxiety or impatience. Today, I yield every battle, worry, and predicament to You as instructed in Exodus 14:14. Grant me the grace to maintain peace, remain obedient to Your voice, and watch You defeat every adversary arrayed against me. May Your name be exalted in my life, and let Your supernatural rest guard my mind all through today. In the mighty and majestic name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
