But reality always brings the sobering question: if I walk away to chase that ideal, who will take care of my wife, my kids, and my aged mom?Lately, the Holy Spirit brought a deep revelation to my heart: serving God works specifically in the capacity He wants, not in the rigid ways we imagine or desire. What really counts in the eyes of Heaven is your genuine zeal, willingness, and internal passion to do His will.
So many of us are constantly faced with one earthly problem, financial obligation, or domestic responsibility or another that seems to prevent us from serving Christ exactly as we think we should. If you find yourself in this position today, take deep consolation in the fact that He is the true reader of men’s hearts. God knows your willingness, and your sincere internal desire alone is enough for Him to give you the exact grace you need to serve in the specific capacity He wants for your current season. We must humble our expectations, remembering that as long as the earth is far beneath the heavens, the thoughts and ways of God are infinitely higher and wiser than our human ideas.
