The bible verse of the day for today Monday August 31 2026 is Acts 15:1.

“But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, ‘Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.'”
4. New King James Version (NKJV)
“And certain men came down from Judea and taught the brethren, ‘Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.'”
5. New Living Translation (NLT)
“While Paul and Barnabas were at Antioch, some men came down from Judea and began teaching the believers: ‘Unless you are circumcised as required by the law of Moses, you cannot be saved.'”
6. Amplified Bible (AMP)
“Some men came down from Judea and began teaching the brothers, ‘Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.'”

Daily Reflection: Understanding the Law, Grace, and the Practice of Righteousness
Whenever most Christians come across the word law in the Bible, they think it refers to the commandments of God, but in our bible verse explanation today we are going to see what the law Paul was always making reference to in the Bible really means.
As we have seen from this passage, circumcision was part of the Mosaic laws and so the Judaistic agitators we see in this passage were telling the early Christians in Antioch of Syria and Jerusalem who were predominantly Gentiles that circumcision was the part of the law they should observe for salvation, the disciples as we see in the context of the passage (verse 2-12) converged and agreed that circumcision was not needed for salvation but grace, and this was the law Paul was always preaching against.
In Romans 8:1-14, this support scripture, Paul explains clearly the kind of law he was making reference to.
Now it’s sad to discover that so many Christians have misunderstood the law Paul was making reference to, to the keeping of God’s commandment, because according to them it is grace that saves and not the ability to practice the commandments of God. But in Titus 2:11-12 Paul clarifies grace to be the ability to deny ungodliness and worldly lust and live soberly, righteously and godly in the present world.
Some Christians have been deceived to a point where they think there can never be a righteous person on earth as Romans 3:10 says but when you study that passage in context you will discover that it was making reference to those who commit or are living in sin.
Thus 1 John 3:7 concludes that whoever practices righteousness is righteous.
We must strive to practice righteousness to become righteous.

Daily Prayer: Grace for True Righteousness, Freedom from Legalism, and Spiritual Alignment
Today’s Confession:
I boldly declare that I am saved by God’s grace and empowered by His Spirit to live righteously!
I reject every false doctrine that turns grace into a license for sin or replaces moral obedience with human tradition.
The Holy Spirit equips me to deny ungodliness, overcome worldly lusts, and walk in total obedience to God’s commandments.
Because I practice righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, I am established in His truth and walk in divine victory, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
A Morning Prayer for Discernment, Righteous Living, and Walking in Grace:
Heavenly Father, Almighty God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, I come before You this Monday morning offering my life as a living sacrifice.
Thank You for saving me by Your boundless grace and freeing me from legalistic burdens and ritualistic bondages.
Lord, give me spiritual discernment to understand Your Word correctly and never compromise Your righteous standards.
Purge my life of every form of hypocrisy, self-righteousness, and intentional sin.
Grant me the daily grace and strength to practice righteousness in my words, thoughts, and deeds, representing Christ accurately in this generation.
In the powerful and exalted name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
