Daily Reflection: Becoming Children of Abraham through Faith and Inheriting the Blessings

As we have clearly seen in today’s Bible verse, we can become the symbol of faith if we learn to see Abraham as our father whom we have inherited faith from. Galatians 3:8, which is the continuation of our main verse of the day, makes it clear that while God was telling Abraham “In thee shall all nations be blessed,” He had already designated faith for us who were and are still considered “heathens” because we were not of the Jewish religion, who were taught to be the only worshippers of the true God. Going back to Joshua 24:2, we observe that Abraham himself was formerly a heathen (coming from a nation that did not worship the true God), but through him, God would later establish a religion that discovered and knew Him, and it is from this lineage that our great Savior the Lord Jesus Christ descended from. In John 1:12, we discover that Jesus adopted us to God so we can inherit the blessings of father Abraham. Going down our main passage to verse 29, the scripture spells the whole mystery out: “if we be Christ’s, then are we Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise,” which is to be a blessing in every ramification. Going back to Genesis 13:2, we see Abraham’s blessing manifested: “He was rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.” And even his cousin who sticked with him also had flocks, herds, and tents (Genesis 13:5). Finally, we discover the nature of Abraham’s faith in Hebrews 11:8–10 & 17, which provides our key life applications:
  • Abraham moved according to God’s command even when there was no roadmap.
  • He saw himself as a sojourner on Earth and looked up to the heavenly city, the Kingdom of God.
  • When he was asked by God to offer his only son Isaac, he didn’t hesitate.

Daily Prayer: Grace for Unshakable Faith, Covenant Alignment, and Supernatural Victory

Today’s Confession: I boldly declare that I am a true child of Abraham through my faith in Jesus Christ! I am an heir according to the promise, and the blessings of Abraham rest upon my life, my family, and the work of my hands. I walk by faith and not by sight, obeying God’s commands even when I cannot see the entire roadmap ahead. I am blessed in silver, gold, spiritual wisdom, and every ramification. I refuse to doubt or hesitate when God calls me to step out in obedience, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen! A Morning Prayer for Walking in Abrahamic Blessings and Faith: Heavenly Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, I enter Your presence this Wednesday morning with thanksgiving for adopting me as Your child through Jesus Christ. Thank You for Your Word in Galatians 3:7 that assures me that through faith, I am a child of Abraham and an heir to Your rich covenant promises. Lord, give me the heart and character of Abraham’s faith. Grant me the grace to move boldly at Your word even when there is no physical roadmap. Keep my eyes set on Your heavenly Kingdom and help me hold nothing back from You in prompt obedience. Let the same covenant blessings that made Abraham rich in wisdom, substance, and peace manifest in my life today. Order my steps, increase my faith, and let Your name be glorified in all I do today. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
